Part of the learning experience of the course involves respecting nature and the natural environment. Please leave radios, tape recorders/walkmans at home. There is no room in the OB safe to store them, and OBZ does not allow them during the course. We will make a plan for one source of music on each bus together before we leave. Bring a book to occupy ravelling or down time if you want. As well, please be aware that students are responsible for their own belongings throughout the course of the trip.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Pen-knives (Swiss Army type) are acceptable, but open blade sheath knives are not allowed.

Cameras and binoculars are welcome and should be clearly marked with the student’s name. Bring extra film. If someone has a digital camera that you could send, please inform me.

Pocket Money. A fully stocked tuck shop operates at OBZ. All transactions are done through a credit system. Valuables and money are kept in their safe for the duration of the course. We suggest that students bring between Z$15,000 and Z$20,000 Zim. This will enable students to purchase a tee shirt, cap, mugs or badges at the end of the course. Students are responsible for monitoring their spending budget. This responsibility is a part of their course.

A musical instrument that you may enjoy playing at campfire.
